Would make sense to be at a strip club listening to this one…
Would make sense to be at a strip club listening to this one…

I recently went to listen to the sounds of “Smalltown DJ’s” @ Fortune Sound Club. The hype to hear these dudes was massive. It was crazy busy inside of Fortune, full of hipsters, scensters and people ready to party. After putting together a way-cool ensemble (purple tights, a hippie fringe dress, flowery vintage blazer and my killer new miss sixty booties along with some big hair & accessories) I rocked the night away (literally didn’t stop dancing all night long) to some ear-loving tunes.
Pete Emes, and Mike Grimes are the two creative music-making minds behind the decks. Their “fun maximization philosophy” (the unifying force be-hind the Smalltown’s genre-warping club sets) never disapoints a crowd ready to have a great time. They started out in Calgary in the late 90′s and still rock the house around the world today. They describe their sound as “community hall punk rock, block party hip-hop and early nineties rave” or “AC/DC. Meets Raffi. At a water-slide park. With a lot (a LOT) of beer”.
So basically, I had a grannnnndd time and would love to hear their fabulous sound again. Heres a video I found to get a glimpse of their party scene, and a link to download their sweet “best of 2009 mix”. Plus a few party pics of the night. ENJOY :)

I have to admit I have just watched Rihanna’s “so hard” video for the first time now, a little shocking since she is clearly one of my fave icons. VERY SCANDALOUS video…I love it, but is the rolling around in the mud really necessary? And a taddd too “gaga” with the makeup. Other then that shes just good old edgy Rih Rih rocking some amazing designer pieces, and looking hotter than ever.
What do you all think? I think she definitely got some men out there *so h*rd” (sorry, I had to say it!)
My friend and star of “Chasing Mood” (www.chasingmood.com) Curtis is Celebrating his birthday @ Fortune Sound Club on Thursday December 10th. The people that come out to these parties always know how to have a good time, after all, their ever so popular nightlife name is “THE GOOD LIFE”. Just want to let everyone know that you should definetly come out, have a good dance, enjoy some good music, good drinks, and realllly really good vibe! Also, i should mention that Fortune Sound Club is an impressive Vancouver nightclub with huge sound and if you havent checked it out yet, this would be a good time.
Tickets are only $10, and in an effort to give to children less fortunate, they will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to purchase toys for kids.
So, dont be shy, and come have a good time!
