Celebrated my birthday last week in style, and it was fabulous!
I came across a beautiful red silk jumpsuit (some of you may know that I kinda have an obsession with jumpsuits…). It was a last-minute find (2 days before the big night) at True Value Vintage. Don’t you just love when that happens?
I prepped some appetizers with some help from my momma… this is what was made: boccacini, tomatoe & basil skewers; chicken, pepper & mushroom skewers; veal & beef skewers; apricot & honey w/ goat cheese & almonds; corn bread w/ feta cheese ; homemade humus dip w/ veggies and multi-grain chips; mom’s specialty pastry called “buttons” it is philopastry rolled with cheese, turkey & sesame seeds (this one was a hit, we even took a doggy bag out with us to the club) ; and finally… homemade desert bites (Serbian cookie crumbs rolled into little bite-size balls w/ bananas, blueberries, strawberries, butter, and coconut sprinkles topped with a dab of nutella & fruit on top)
After a lot of drinks, appys, good tunes, girl talk & present openings we continued the party at one of my fave spots: Fortune Sound Club. The sounds of DJ SPIDER rocked the house and I can’t say much after that… it was my birthday and it was a blurry night. A FUN blurry night that is.
THANKS TO ALL MY FRIENDS FOR MAKING IT SPECIAL!
Unfortunately no pictures were taken at Fortune Sound Club (hence, the blurry night)…but here are a few pics of us during the pre-party :)
